APRIL TRIVIA
April is the fourth month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar, and one of four months with a length of 30 days. April was originally the second month of the Roman calendar, before January and February were added by King Numa Pompilius about 700 BC. It became the fourth month of the calendar year (the year when twelve months are displayed in order) during the time of the decemvirs about 450 BC, when it also was given 29 days. The Julian calendar reform of 46 BC gave April 30 days, effective in 45 BC.

STANDARDS UPDATE
FHWA DOT 23CFR634 Worker Visibility Standard

ANSI 207-2006 is the current American National Standard for High Visibility Vests designed to meet the practical needs for workers in construction traffic zones. While ANSI 207-2006 remains a guideline, new Federal legislation 23CFR634 becomes effective in November 2008. This enforceable standard requires all workers within the right-of-way of a Federal-aid highway who are exposed either to traffic (vehicles using the highway for purposes of travel) or to construction equipment within the work area shall wear High Visibility apparel. Included in this definition are workers on foot such as highway construction and maintenance forces, survey crews, utility crews, responders to incidents, law enforcement personnel when directing traffic, investigating crashes, and handling lane closures, obstructed roadways, and disasters with the right-of-way of a Federal –aid highway. Please contact your Day Star sales representative to discuss our product offerings to meet these requirements.
