Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide general EHS support for SPX Cooling Technologies manufacturing facility in Olathe, KS.  The successful incumbent will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will remain organized while prioritizing work effectively so that all tasks are completed on time. The incumbent will be a team member on various projects and will hold individual responsibility for certain aspects of each project.  The position requires an attention to detail, the ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner, and the ability to work well with others.  Duties include employee training, policy development, and the management of all aspects of the facility's Safety Management Plan.  Additionally, this position requires the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

• Assists with developing safe work practices, OSHA and EPA compliant policies and procedures, and monitoring overall safety compliance
• Manages Workers' Compensation claims and maintains OSHA recordkeeping logs
• Maintains updated training records, tracking incidents and corrective actions
• Assists with planning, organizing, and executing safety training for  supervisors and hourly personnel
• Manages safety teams and tracks action items to closure
• Works with Supervisors to engage employees, conduct risk assessments, and implement positive reward systems
• Assists the EHS Manager with projects as needed

• Bachelors degree in EHS or a related field
• 3.0/4.0 GPA or better
• Strong interest in the field of environmental, health and safety
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations

SHE Supervisor

I. Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all Safety & Health Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, and Coordinator of Site emergency Response. It is responsible for leading government, regulatory and Corporate audits. Scope of other responsibilities includes planning and managing within budget guidelines, coordinating annual required health events and OSHA training. This position will report to the SHEQ Manager.

II. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work):
Knowledge of, experience with, and compliance with: OSHA Regulations, Worker's Compensation Law, Federal and State Environmental regulations and reporting related to Safety & Environment Maintenance of reporting documents related to OSHA Log Tracking, OSHA Training, and OSHA Compliance.
Leading role in accident reporting and follow-up investigations and site programs.
Coordination of all safety & environmental training (including speakers and training materials and maintain records) and safety and health events (on-site trucks for hearing and safety shoes).
Provide all SHE technical advice & Develop site targets.
Maintain all site environment permits
Maintain site EMS program and site Registrar of Environmental Requirements
Coordinate plant Waste Management Program including a Waste Minimization Program
Maintain site Crisis Management Plan including various drills within the plant.
Development of health and wellness programs
Interface with SHE contacts at Corporate Headquarters.

III. Challenges:
Understanding the laws, regulations, compliance & audit requirements associated with the position.
Developing programs & establishing associated accountability methods to ensure participation & Compliance
Creating an environment and organizational culture focused on prevention
Fostering an efficient interface between plant SHE and headquarters SHE
Diplomatic handling of sensitive issues and the ability to establish and foster effective team work with key stakeholders at the plant (HR, the Management team, the employee population at large)
Effectively represent the plant & the business during Compliance and regulatory audits The incumbent must have the ability to effectively coach upward and to demonstrate the cost benefit & potential consequences of decisions made.

IV. Scope:
Primary role for plant compliance in the above areas. Non-compliance represents significant financial loss and legal penalties to business leadership. 205 employees on site

Education Bachelors Degree in Environmental or Safety or other Technical Field.
